Five knitters dropped by this past Monday (Oct. 6) for the rebirth of the knitting group. While we were knitting away, another woman came by to tell the group about the Prayer Shawl Project for a local hospice program. The project is to knit a shawl for the comfort of a patient in hospice or his/her family. She left off instructions and bags of yarn, so, if this sounds like a project that you’d be interested in, stop by my office. The shawl instructions look easy, even for a beginner like me, and there are crochet instructions, too. The Knitting Group will meet again Oct. 20 (the library’s closed Oct. 13 for Columbus Day). Miriam from “The Wool Patch” yarn shop in Middleboro will be there, presenting new yarns and patterns.
