Museum of the Month: Providence Children’s Museum

Each month, we’ll be highlighting a museum  that we have passes to.  This month, it’s the Providence Children’s Museum on 100 South Street in Providence.  Their hours are 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. every day, and select Fridays from 5:00-8:00 p.m.  Admission is $7.50, but it is $2 per person for up to four people with the library’s pass.   Children under 1 year old are free. Friday evenings are free, thanks to Metlife.   What do they have there?  All kinds of fun stuff for everyone, from preschoolers on up!  In the Waterways exhibit, kids can send boats and balls down a waterfall, design a fountain, and use their muscles to send water shooting in the air.  Play Power, a new exhibit, celebrates the power of children’s play, using music, contruction, and investigation.  On the second floor, the Bone Zone explores the human body.  IWay is for the construction fans in the family.  And Shape Space is all about geometry.  There are special programs every day, including Preschool Fridays, where preschoolers rule until 2:00, Museum Challenges on Mondays, Worm World, FETCH! Labs, Bubble Blowout, and Ocho’s Art Cart.  Mom’s are free on Mother’s Day, and Dad’s are free on Father’s Day.  What are you waiting for?  Call us to reserve your pass and check out the Providence Children’s Museum!
